My 100 pound weight loss

I recently wrote a book about a long journey I took with my wife. It's about our weight loss and diabeties. This is not a cookbook...it is about how I was raised, the foods that we ate, the struggles we had growing up and my family. This is the premise of the book:

This book is about my wife and I during the past year and a half and our struggle in improving our health. We took a long journey together and lost 150 total pounds. Her 50 and me 100. It was not easy.

During the past 18 years after I retired from the U.S. Marine Corps my health slowly turned for the worse. It began with mistakes I made during my lifetime. I was a chain smoker and I smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day for over 28 years. I quit cold turkey and used M&M's as my substitute. Of all the things I picked...M&M's.

Soon after I quit smoking, I began to notice my health becoming an issue. I went to take my annual physical and soon found that I was a Diabetic. I was placed on medication and continued medication for over 17 years.

After the loss of my Little Brother, I had a re-awakening. I realized that I needed to make changes in my life but I did not know how. Then my prayers were answered.
